3 arrested after shots fired during narcotics search
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Narcotics agents were executing a search warrant on Tuesday, Oct. 19, just before 5 p.m., that later turned into a manhunt.
After clearing the home in the 1700 block of Looney Street, agents found drugs, guns and a large amount of money. They noticed the back door of the home was open and discovered Marcus Clark, 47, hiding outside.
When Clark was asked to surrender, he fled but was captured after a short chase. After he was arrested, two other men came out of hiding.
The two suspects, Jeremy Jones, 28, and Eric Jenkins, 21, were also asked to surrender. Jones instead pulled out a gun and pointed it at an SPD officer. A narcotics agent then fired one round at Jenkins. He was not hit and was able to run away from the scene.
Jones was arrested while the CPSO special response team, K9′s, a drone unit and SPD officers searched the area for Jenkins.
He was found under a home on West Gary Street at around 7:30 p.m. and surrendered to police. Clark was taken to a hospital after complaining of breathing issues, and Jenkins and Jones were taken in for questioning.
All three suspects will be booked into the Caddo Correctional Center. Jenkins is to be charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer with a firearm, possession of schedule II with intent to distribute (crack cocaine), possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance and flight from an officer.
Clark will be charged with two counts of possession of schedule II with intent to distribute (methamphetamine and crack cocaine), possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number and felon in possession of a firearm.
Jones will be charged with possession of schedule ll with intent to distribute (crack cocaine) and flight from an officer.
