19-year-old shot in Texarkana, Ark.; arrest made
TEXARKANA, Ark. (KSLA) — An arrest has been made in a Texarkana, Ark. shooting that sent a teenager to the hospital.
Zion Fricks, 23, was charged with a warrant that was issued before the shooting - theft by receiving of a firearm. He’s also facing charges related to the shooting investigation for second-degree battery and criminal use of a prohibited weapon.
Authorities said they got a call about gunfire about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5. Responding officers then found the wounded 19-year-old Texarkana, Ark., resident in a front yard in the 3600 block of Bann Avenue. His wounds did not appear to be life-threatening.
Officials say Frick was accompanied by the victim and four others into the garage of the residence, when he fired the gun and struck one of the men.
Detectives obtained a search warrant or evidence related to the crime and located five weapons, one of which was altered and illegal to possess.
