LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KAIT) – Tuesday will be an important day for many across the nation, as the general election will be held.

In Arkansas, you can cast your vote on Nov. 8 starting from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

You can find a location where you can cast your vote by visiting the Secretary of State’s VoterView website.

Voting at the Polls

When you go to vote, there are some things you need to keep in mind:

• Make sure you arrive at your voting location with a government-issued photo ID
• An election official will ask for your name, address, and date of birth
• Before you vote, you will need to sign the voter list for your precinct
• You can also update your voting records at the poll site if, for example, your name or address has changed

Provisional Voting

If you registered to vote but your name does not appear on the precinct voter registration list, or if you are unable to comply with identification requirements, you can cast a Provisional Ballot.

The Secretary of State’s office says you can also cast a Provisional Ballot if your vote is challenged by a poll watcher. It would be set aside by election officials until a commission determines whether the ballot may be counted.

If you cast a Provisional Ballot, you have the right to be informed in writing whether or not your ballot was counted and, if not, the reason it was not counted.
